The Netbiter product range provides support for the standard Ethernet protocol SNMP.
Intellicom has been involved in several remote management projects where SNMP has been used for alarm management of generator products or UPS machines.
One of our customers had a large widespread area where generator sets (using a control panel from Basler). The installation also included UPS machines. SNMP is very common when used on UPS machines. In the project, a data center wanted to constantly monitor the alarm status of all the generators. The preferred method for alarm presentation and management was an SNMP manager. To be able to integrate alarm information from the generators into an already existing infrastructure of supervisory systems was mandatory to be successful for this customer.
The
Netbiter webSCADA product family supports
SNMP, both using Ethenet and mobile phone networks using GPRS.
The Netbiter solution offers a connection between Modbus (Modbus RTU is used by the Basler control panel as default) and SNMP to provide the alarm information to the SNMP manager at the control room in the data center. In this project some remote generators were monitored by SNMP run over the Ethernet network and some were monitored using SNMP over GPRS (wireless).
The Netbiter solution provides a SNMP MIB configuration file for easy installation of the Basler genrators.
In addition to the SNMP solution, the Netbiter unit also provides a built-in web server that can perform easy monitoring and control of remote products. This means that even more detailed information about the health, readiness and performance of each Basler generator can be obtained.
